Empowering their play. Protecting their passion.
The Phzio Athlete Care Program is designed to enable hockey players and families to have peace of mind for injury assessments, treatment and safer return to play. Injured players gain access to Athletic Therapists familiar with sports injuries and how to treat them. When a fracture is suspected, parents can be issued an x-ray requisition to save the wait at a local hospital ER, for players with a suspected concussion the health team will combine health resources and employee SCAT6 protocols to ensure safe return to play. A concussion hotline is available for parents to call and speak with a health provider about possible symptoms.
Health Check Emails
Health check emails are sent weekly to registered parents and guardians and serve as a reminder to parents about the services and a prompt to treat any injuries incurred. Links within emails provide quick access to book an appointment with a Phzio Health Provider.
Return to Play
Players and parents will have access to health professionals that can design their rehab program as well as provide important diagnostics (e.g. x-rays) and important concussion rehab protocols (e.g. SCAT6) meant to ensure safer return to play guidance. This enhances players experiences with the game and helps to ensures parents have better resources for their young athletes.
Parents and guardians should expect to receive emails relating to health checks and other relevant aspects to the Athlete Care Program.
